offer half-day classes, series classes and luxury
cooking school vacations featuring traditional Creole
recipes taught by noted New Orleans chefs. Celebrate the exotic
culture that has inspired musicians, writers and artists. And,
of course, learn the secrets and history of New Orleans’ famous
food and culture.
 Learn to cook authentic New Orleans cuisine in focused, intimate
classes. Whether you are a skilled cook or just an enthusiast,
you will enjoy the camaraderie of our spirited groups and talented
chefs. Following each class, you will savor your delicious creations,
along with fine wines, in our residential dining room or our delightful
garden.
Whether you are interested in a single class, a full vacation or
a reception with special “tastings” or demonstrations
from our chefs, we have a range of rates to suit most needs.
The New Orleans Cooking Experience is the cooking
school in residence at the House on Bayou Road.
The House
on Bayou Road is a Select Registry Inn located about 12 blocks
from the French Quarter, about mid-way between the Vieux Carre
and the New Orleans Museum of Fine Arts.
HOBR is a lovingly renovated, antique-filled, romantic
and tranquil petite Creole plantation compound. On the site
are the main plantation house built in the 1790s, several cottages,
Restaurant Indigo and over two acres of gardens, courtyard and
lawns.
